Illini 4000 arrives Portland

Come help welcome Illinois students riding their bikes across the country

The Illini 4000 will be riding through Portland this summer! The Illini 4000 is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience through The Portraits Project, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through annual cross-country bike rides. Follow their ride across the U.S. at Illini 4000.

The 27 students are spending the night of July 21st in Hood River then riding into Troutdale to club member Malinda's home. There they will camp that evening and enjoy a potluck dinner organized by our club.

Please join us!
Saturday 7/22/17 (4:30 – 6PM arrival until dark)
32731 NE Mershon Road, Troutdale, OR 97060
Malinda can be reached at 971-271-4156.

We ask that you bring:
1. A side dish (salad, appetizers, veggies, desserts) to serve 20-30. (These kids EAT!!!)
2. Lawn chairs
3. Your favorite beverages
4. Clothing for an outdoor bbq and campfire

The club will provide hotdogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers, plates, napkins and silverware

Please text or call 971-271-4156 with how many will attend and what side dish you are bringing.

We are excited to have you join us (in your orange and blue!) and welcome these incredible Illini students with your local Illini alumni. If you care to donate to the Illini 4000 fund, you’ll see a “donate” button on the right side of their webpage. Let’s show these kids the best of our PNW spirit and honor their intention to stop cancer in its tracks.
